The league

Friendly, social netball in the heart of Newark.

As soon as one season finishes, the next one begins. Newark Netball League runs right through the year: two winter seasons, a relaxed Summer Festival and annual tournaments every May and August.

All matches are played under World Netball Rules (2024) alongside the league's own rules and regulations. Team and player registration is now done directly through this website, and every game is covered by qualified umpires.

Division 1

Monday nights · Suthers School

Our competitive division. County and regional club players line up alongside players who have pushed on from Division 2. The netball is quicker, sharper and ideal for anyone who wants a faster, more challenging game.

Division 2

Monday nights · Barnby Road Academy

A very good standard of netball without the higher intensity. Perfect for club players after a good game, players returning to netball or from injury, and anyone building fitness or looking for a new team.

Tuesday League

Tuesday nights · Newark Academy

Good quality, sociable netball in midweek. Similar in feel to Division 2 and growing season by season, so it is a great time for new teams and new players to get involved.

Teams playing the first game of the evening should arrive by 6:15pm so team sheets, umpire payments and warm ups are done before the 6:30pm start. Everyone else, at least 10 minutes before your game.

Officiating

Umpires. We need you.

Experienced or brand new, we will help you get there. Our six week mentorship programme supports you towards your England Netball umpiring qualifications, with shadowing opportunities alongside experienced umpires on real match nights.

You can also start out at a local club, umpiring on a training night until you feel confident. We are a social league, but our umpires officiate to a high standard so every team gets a fair game.
